As we noted in our prior blog post, last week Attorney General Jeff Sessions announced that Trump and his administration has decided to end DACA (Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals). This means that the Department of Homeland Security will stop accepting new DACA applications (i.e., from people who don’t already have DACA) --- and that individuals who already have DACA and whose work permits expire between now and March 5, 2018, will be able to apply for a two-year renewal if they apply by October 5, 2017.

This deadline is right around the corner, and while national advocate groups are pushing for it to be extended, one of the main concerns for DACA recipients is finding the required $495 application fee that USCIS charges for renewal.

MLOV has joined a growing list of grassroots efforts from across the country to raise funds to support undocumented immigrant youth and provide to those trying to renew their DACA status by October 5th.

While our most recent newsletter listed a YouCaring link for individuals wishing to contribute to supporting DACA renewals, we have found that there are irreparable technical difficulties with this link.

Please click the button below to support local immigrant youth -- any funds raised above our goal of $2400 to support stipends for our undocumented youth members who participated in the Summer Youth Employment Program will go to covering DACA renewal costs for those renewing their status by October 5th.
